Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!
If you're like me, it's tough finding a lot of time for stamping. That's okay. Rest those wrists and get ready for January... there is a LOT to look forward to.
I've set the dates for my workshops: Wednesday, January 12 and Thursday January 13. Both will run from 1 - 4 and will be 5 for $5 card workshops. We will be doing at least a couple of VALENTINES; yes, it's that time already!
Be sure to RSVP quickly; I have spots for 10 each day.
I've got the new Mini Catalog in my hand. Take my advice, start saving up - you're going to want it all! I have a couple of the new sets and am chomping at the bit to get a chance to play with them. We will be using them at the workshop.
Also, later in January, there will be an exciting promotion! That's all I'm going to say- zip, my lips are sealed.
Until then, God bless you this holiday season.
John 3:17 God sent not His SON into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

If you missed the workshop...

I made this card using the ornament from the Tags Til Christmas set and the florish from Elements of Style.
I started with a 5 X 11 piece of Whisper White card stock which I stamped on the front, then scored at 7 inches and then 3 inches. After that I cut around the florishs and then sponged.

For the ornaments, I stamped, leaving spaces here and there to fill in. For this, I used the technique known as masking. With the ornament punch that matches this stamp, I punched two ornament from sticky notes, making sure to get part of the sticky area. I then placed these over the two stamped ornaments that I wanted my partical ornament to show between, making sure to cover as close to the edge as possible without hanging over. (You could also stamp an ornament on sticky notes and cut around them if you don't have the punch.)

I then flipped it over and did the same stamping on the back, only I stamped off the edge with the florish because it will not line up to match the front. It doesn't matter though!
I mounted this on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Old Olive for the background. The florish and sponging is also in Old Olive. I used Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant for the ornaments.

Fall flew.

Wow, where did fall go? It sounds like things have been as crazy for all of you as they have for me! But, I'm back at the stampin' table and ready to get things going full speed. And Stampin' Up! is helping me do that with some terrific Holiday Specials that you will want to check out.

I'll be hosting a party on Tuesday, Nov. 2 @ 6:30. (Don't forget to VOTE on your way to the party!) We will be making one of my favorite "happy cards", a beautiful fall colors card and, yes, a Christmas card. And of course, it wouldn't be a party without refreshments, lol. Consider this an invitation and bring a friend! I need RSVP's by Halloween please, so I can make sure to have enough supplies for everyone.

Then on Thursday, November 11, I will be hosting a workshop from 1 -4 p.m. You have your choice of making 5 cards or 3 cards and a scrapbook page. One of the cards we will be making is the Medallion Christmas Ornament, shown below. You won't want to miss out on this beautiful card!

Cost of the workshop is $5.00. Bring your own adhesives and scissors, please. I supply everything else. Please RSVP by Monday, Nov. 8. You may RSVP by phone @ 345-3152, by email to jaynegrenier@gmail.com or of course, in person if you see me..

This is my new favorite card to make! I borrowed the idea from Cindy Jenkins. (Thank you, Cindy!) So many possible variations. I used the Awash With Flowers stamp set, the Square Lattice embossing folder and the Top Note die. The card stock is Old Olive, Whisper White and Melon Mambo.
The flower outlines and the sponging around the edge are in Crumb Cake.
The inside view is shown below. I like to call these cards my happy cards, because... you guessed it, they make me happy!

Waterfall Card

This is one of the techniques I'm looking forward to teaching you at our first workshop. The waterfall card looks complicated; you pull the tab and the images flip! - but it's suprisingly simple. The card we will be making won't be these papers and colors, but I wanted to give you a sneak peak at one of the things you'll be learning!

Jumping in!

Welcome, and thank you for checking out my blog. This is my first blog, first entry and so I'm jumping in!

My goal is to create a place where you can come and check out what's new with my Stampin' Up business and learn and share creative ideas. I will also be posting announcements about upcoming workshops, Stampin' Up sales and special incentives.

This is also a place for you to share ideas with me! Tell me what I can do to improve your party or workshop experience. Let me know if there is a technique you would like to see demonstrated or a stamp set you would like ideas for using.

My first workshop will be Tuesday, August 31. I am going to try this one openhouse style, come and leave as it's convenient for you. It will be starting at 1:00 running until 4:00. I recommend getting started no later than 2:30 if you want to finish all your cards here. The cost will be $5 for 5 cards. I supply the cardstock, stamps, ink and any embellishments - you bring scissors and adhesive. You must RSVP by Saturday, August 28th so that I can prepare and cut cardstock. I look forward to seeing you here!
